It's difficult to guess what will happen in the next story. As I was expecting this chapter to be played in episode 7 if we go through a video game. Episode had a different storyline explaining Ellie's life where episode 8 follows the video game storyline. The story in this episode is far better than the video game.

The Last of Us Episode 8 play
The Last of us - this episode starts with the place name Silver Lake which is covered by snow everywhere. It's so cold and few people are listening to David who is reading books, praying for peace for his friend who was actually killed by Joel while escaping last location. We see a slogan written “When we are in need he shall provide” this clearly says that people are cannibals as the situation of this place is not good and they have less ration which will last for a week. We see James and David talking to each other to take revenge on his friend who was killed by Joel but David shows soft behavior and decides to go hunting.
Ellie is trying her best to keep Joel alive, his health is not good and he needs medicines. Ellie took her gun and decided to go hunting so they could have something to eat. She took a gun for hunting in a forest which was covered by snow everywhere. It was so cold outside. It was difficult to walk in the snow and somehow she found a big deer. She shot at a deer but the deer died traveling some distance in the forest. The deer was spotted by David and James and they figure out there is some hunter nearby them. After some time they were at gunpoint with Ellie as she found a dead deer with these two people. Ellie was a brave girl and strong training from Fedra and Joel, worked for her. So David and James put their guns down and decided to trade with Ellie. Ellie asks for medicine and she will give them half of the share from the deer. This was a good deal for Ellie as she can get medicine for Joel. David sent his friend to Silver Lake for medicine in exchange for half meat. Here we see David was trying to be friendly with Ellie but she was paying attention as they were strangers. David said it will take time for James to come as the distance is 4 miles from their location and they decided to take rest in a shelter which was close to them. Ellie and David were talking to each other near the fire. Suddenly he told Joel about his friend who was killed on campus by Joel. Ellie understands David was there while they were trying to escape that place. She took her gun and pointed it at David and James reached their shelter with medicine James pointed the gun at Ellie from behind but David stopped him and said to give her medicine. She took medicine from James and left the deer in the shelter. She left that place pointing a gun at them.
She reached her shelter where they are hiding. She gives an injection to Joel, he is unconscious and his wound is not healing fast. This medicine might work fast to heal him. David and James reached Salt Laker in resort where all are taking dinner, he open door and bring big deer inside, the people of lakers were not so much happy as they knew that David leave girl alive who killed their friend. David was not happy with this and slapped one of the girls who was talking rudely with David as she lost her father, who was killed by Joel. David said they will start searching their shelter in the morning. Ellie was collecting snow for horse suddenly she listen birds chirp flying in the sky she become alert and hide their and found Davids people are coming towards their hiding out place. She gave a knife to Joel to protect himself and his condition was not good. He was unconscious. She took a gun and with a horse shot at David's people to take their attention so she can save Joel from them. David orders his people to catch her alive. James shot at Ellie's horse and she fell down and was unconscious. David starts searching for Joel to kill him. David took Ellie with him to Salt Lake and put her in jail. Now Joel heard somebody was entering his room and he woke up trying his hardest to kill one of them and cough two of them. Joel torture them with knife and stabbed in knee and takeout all information where they take Ellie and kill both of them.
Here Ellie wakes up and finds herself in prison which was in a resort or restaurant in Salt lake. David comes to Ellie and he talks to Ellie. David looks like a sicko type person who can't say what he actually wants with Ellie. He wants her to be in his team or else. Ellie was in anger and broke David's fingers which made him angry. James came there with a kitchen knife and both took out Ellie and put her on the table to kill her. We can understand they both are cannibals and want to kill Ellie. Elllie took a knife from James and kIll him, David shot at Ellie but missed the target. She hid as the door was locked and threw fire wood towards David and missed and caught fire in the restaurant. Now David is searching madly for Ellie. Joel arrived at Salt Lake where he was found in a storage facility with dead deer and horse hanging. He understood that people are cannibals and took some necessary things from there. Elllie attacked with a knife at David behind him but that one hit with the knife wasn't sufficient to take him down. David kicked hard at Ellie and tried to sexually assault her but Ellie found a knife and in anger she killed David.

Joel finds Ellie coming out of the restaurant, Ellie has already saved herself by the time he arrives; but at least he gets to give her the reassuring hug. As a traumatized Ellie sobs, Joel holds onto her, tightly. “It’s OK, baby girl,” he says. “I got you. Here we feel as Father and Daughter hugging each other. This episode was far better than the video game story. It is clear that more episodes are to come.
